From a girl and her Ute to a farmer’s wife… from legendary truckies to those farming the land… from the outback to life in a country town… or simply, Aussie’s living it up and having a good time! No matter what it is, if it’s about Australian country culture and life, Jayne Denham writes and sings about it.
Jayne Denham is fast becoming one of Australia’s most admired country music performers. Her impressive and relentlessly energetic live show has seen her earn performance opportunities at all major Australian Country Music festivals.
She’s unashamedly Country and a champion of regional and rural life and values.
In releasing two albums independently - Sudden Change Of Weather (2008) and Shake This Town (2010) - Denham has established a position in the Australian music market as a powerful and convincing live performer of songs that touch on the true Australian spirit.
She won an Australian Independent Country Music Award in 2008 for ‘Best Female Rising Star’ and was then a Golden Guitar finalist in 2010 for ‘Best New Talent’ and MusicOz Award finalist. Jayne has also had four Top #10 hits on the Country Music Channel (CMC) Top 30 Countdown as well as a #1 hit ‘Feral Kev & General Leeroy’ on the Australian Country Tracks Chart, along with three other top #10 radio singles.
Following those successful independent album releases, ABC Music, the label home of Australian Country Stars such as Lee Kernaghan, Sara Storer, McAlister Kemp, Jasmine Rae and Catherine Britt recently announced the signing of Jayne Denham to a record deal.
“This album will have plenty of rocking country songs, with a blend of heart felt lyrics and melodies to add to the next step of my journey in Australian country music,” says Jayne Denham.
Best known for rockin’ up-tempo hits like ‘Chick Ute’, ‘Shake This Town’ and ‘Feral Kev & General Leeroy,’ the first single from Renegades, the beautiful ‘Shelter,’ (co-written with Colin Buchanan and Tamara Stewart) introduces the more personal side of Jayne Denham to the Australian Country fans.
“Every song I’ve ever sung is about real life. From trucker chicks to mad professors! But ‘Shelter’ is my most personal song to date. Inspired by all the great folks I’ve met over the years on the road that live on the land. Hearing their stories and feeling their struggles - but most importantly feeling their passion for what they do,” says Jayne Denham.
‘Shelter’ compliments another album of up-tempo anthems and hits, and was officially serviced to radio stations on November 19, 2012.
Jayne Denham has recorded her third album Renegade with iconic Australian producer Garth Porter. The album released through ABC Music/Universal Music Australia on April 5, 2013.
