“New single ‘Oh No’ takes it into bass guitar-heavy, rhythmic pop territory.” Samuel J. Fell- Rhythms Magazine/Sydney Morning Herald
Melbourne based indie/dance outfit Blackchords will hit the ground running in 2013 with the release of their single ‘Oh No’ on January 18th. This is the second single from the highly anticipated sophomore album ‘A Thin Line’ which is set for release on April 5th.
The band have recently had the privilege of working with highly acclaimed cinematographers, Tov Belling and Katie Milwright (Stonefield- Ruby Skies, Please Like Me, Laid- Series Two) on the accompanying music clip. The single video, which was shot in Melbourne’s Docklands, includes choreography by award winning choreographer and dancer Stephanie Lake (Chunky Move, VCA, Sydney Dance Company). The result is a beautiful collaboration of some of Melbourne’s finest artists.
2012 saw Blackchords sign with ABC Music and record their forthcoming album ‘A Thin Line’ with Grammy award winning producer David Odlum (The Frames) at the exclusive ‘Barra Shed’ in Gladysdale, Victoria. “Dance, Dance, Dance” was the first single released from the album and was added to radio stations around the country which coincided with a national tour in September.
The band will be launching ‘Oh No’ in Melbourne and Sydney before taking on the United States at the prestigious music conference SXSW. They will also be making their debut performance at the Canadian Music Week in late March.
